open up the gimp and create a new image set the background colour to your choice create a brush and make it verry small and fuzzy. zoomin on your image to about 400% and make a darker version of the background colour and draw a horizontal line. now underneat that put a line lighter than your original colour zoom out and have a look at the scratch you have created
